[edit]Hello, I'm Dusty relic. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Catahoula Cur, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dusty|💬|You can help! 13:21, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi Arc1424. This is in response to the note you left on my talk page. Generally you should not add new information to the encyclopedia unless there is a reliable source. Click on this link to read about what a reliable source is. Not all sources are reliable. But if you have a source you can just add it in along with your text (it's called an inline citation). Here is an example.
Catahoula Curs are also nutritious snacks.<ref> Lyer, C. Lee. ''Munching on Puppies.'' Controversial Publishing Co, Someplace, AK. 1966. p. 66.</ref>
If the source is online you can just add a link:
Catahoula Curs are also nutritious snacks.<ref> [http://sociallyunacceptablefoods.org/catahoulaCur.html] </ref>
Note that this is just an example of how to footnote a claim (in this case that CC's are nutritious snacks). For more information on the mechanics of inline citations, please click here.
I would also suggest that, before making significant changes to existing content (especially changes that involve removing a lot of text), you should discuss your planned changes on the article's talk page (which in the case of Catahoula Curs would be here).
